At night you can go out to one of the many local lively piazzas full of students, interesting bars, cheap delicious street food, and historical monuments. There is a wonderful piazza only 50 meters away with a beautiful fountain in front of a monumental building that now operates as a major police station. You can relax and enjoy the evening with drinks, fellow guests, and locals in the shadow of the hostel; knowing that you are in one of safest location in the entire city.
HISTORY - Started in 1999 by Jenny Hoskins an Australian woman who owned and operated it for 13 years. In October of 2012 she told a group of former employees that she was planning on closing the hostel on the first of November. These friends couldn't bear the thought of such a special place disappearing, so they decided that night to buy the hostel.
This group of 5 friends are from 4 different countries; Luciano is Italian from Napoli (Torre del grecco), Jeremie is French from Lyon, Gerrad is American from Seattle, Rachel and Gabrielle are both from New Zealand (Auckland).
Over the past two years we have expanded the hostel and there are now a total of 4 dorm rooms and 5 private rooms spread over two floors. As the hostel evolves we will nurture the charming and welcoming spirit that made it so special to us and gives the guests a home away from home.
**** PLEASE NOTE ****
There is an additional city tax of €1 per person per night (paid upon arrival at the hostel)
