Welcome to the heart of Austin! The Firehouse is the only hostel in the central downtown area! We are located within walking distance of everything this fun and quirky city has to offer. The building is tucked away just around the corner from historic 6th Street with its legendary nightlife and live music scene. The Firehouse serves as the perfect home-base amid all the action.

The Firehouse Hostel is located in the oldest standing fire station in Austin, originally built in 1885. Locally owned and operated, started by travelers for travelers, the hostel first opened in 2013 after an extensive renovation project that updated the building’s interior. Today, the Firehouse is the largest hostel in Texas!

Our “Deluxe” dorms feature custom heavy duty bunks with large lockers built in underneath. Each bed includes power outlets and a reading light.
The attached Firehouse Lounge is a great place to meet fellow travelers and locals, sip on handcrafted cocktails or locally brewed beers, and enjoy live music. You can access our popular speakeasy-style cocktail bar through a hidden bookshelf in the hostel lobby!

That was a good hostel! I just need to say that the individual fan that was placed on my bunk bed was really dirty. There was a lot of dust in it.. As I’m allergic to dust, it was not easy to breath properly. Should clean them regularly.

Un personnel très accueillant et sympathique. Hostel tres bruyant, ce n’est pas le lieu si vous souhaitez vous reposer, le bar au sous sol est certe très agréable si vous ne souhaitez pas bouger très loin mais pour dormir très dérangeant.
Les chambres sont vieillottes et étroites pour 6 personnes, c’était un calvaire d’autant plus que la porte était cassé donc en plus de tout entendre, les autres colocataires me réveillaient pour rentrer dans la chambre. Les salles de bains n’ont aucune privacy
