Wild Elephants Hostel

First of all, please be aware that some folks call us a PARTY Hostel (which we are not, we just really like to party :D)! If you are looking for a quiet night this might not be the best place for you, but be sure to check our sister hostel Urban Elephants hostel, they are a little bit tamer, but you can still come and join our daily activities and party with us at night!

Secondly, let us remind you that we cannot accept bookings from anyone under the age of 18 years old since we sell alcohol on the premises. Also, due to previous experiences, we don't usually take bookings from guests over 35, but if you are in for the party and getting crazy with us please email us so we can discuss it further.

The Wild Elephants Hostel is not just a cheap bed in a great location: we offer fun-loving backpackers an experience unlike any other. Our volunteers are backpackers who would like to involve you in various daily activities (which range from having great local beers in underground bars, and lake trips to visiting secrets spots that only we know of), cook you every night delicious dinners (always vegan), give the best recommendations about what do to and what to see and take you for a wild night out in the best local venues of Bratislava with the Drunken Heroes Pub Crawl. From teaching you wild drinking games, and how to properly do a beer bong to helping you plan your day: we are here for you 24/7, 365 days a year! And obviously, wild animals also need to sleep: our quiet hours go from 00 pm to 7 am to ensure you have a great sleep!

The inclusive social and party environment we work in will easily make you a part of your new home shared with up to 50 of your future friends and definitely give you amazing memories, both day and night. We might NOT be fancy or newly furnished, but we love what we do and we share this love with everybody who seeks an open-minded place to have fun and meet people.

We are right in the center of the old town on the 2nd floor of a 600+ years old historical building. Therefore we do not have an elevator, air conditioning, or a parking space. What we do have instead is a hip place with spacious common areas, artistic walls, a well-equipped kitchen, a comfortable smoking area, table foosball, time machine, spaceship, and more!

Just on a side note, we also have wi-fi, a printer, hair dryers, and straighteners, all for free :)

Cancellation policy: 48h before the check-in date or within 24h of booking
Late cancellation or no show: full reservation charge
Payment must be done only by cash at check-in. Credit card information is taken to authorize the deposit and guarantee your booking. The deposit is equal to the full amount of the reservation excluding the tourist tax and will be automatically refunded in 5 business days.
Our normal reception hours are from 7 AM to 10:00 PM
Check-in is from 15:00.
Check out before 11:00.
Breakfast not included
No curfew.

Arriving out of check-in time? The main gate downstairs is locked after 10:30 pm, so in case it is locked, just ring the bell on the left side of the door once and the night receptionist will come and get you in a few seconds.

We are ideally suited to solo travelers or small groups who wish to mingle and meet people. Therefore, WE DO NOT accept bookings of groups larger than 4 people. If you choose to make a booking for your group, we reserve the right to cancel your booking without a refund of your deposit. This policy also applies to multiple bookings under different names for the same group. If you arrive at the hostel in violation of our group policy, we have the right to cancel your booking on the spot without a refund of your deposit as well as charging additional cancellation fees.

We do not accept stag, hen, birthday parties, and similar kinds of groups that fly to Bratislava just to get drunk, whatever the number of people is.

AGE RESTRICTION IS FROM 18 TO 35 YEARS OLD. If you are outside of this age range, we reserve the right to turn you away at check-in/cancel your booking and charge you the full reservation amount.

The smoking fee inside the hostel is 120EUR - and immediately leaving the hostel without any refund.

We keep the right to cancel your reservation or immediately turn you away and charge your credit card with the full amount of the reservation if you violate any of our policies.

Government tourist tax is 1.70EUR per night per person and is NOT included in the price of your reservation (students between 18 to 26 years and Slovak nationals are exempt).
