A small and perfectly formed family run riad in the centre of the souqs Riad Layla Rouge breathes in the Mad Hatters tea party of colour that Marrakech conjures, and breathes out the nearby chaos a gentler but still eccentric heartbeat

Only one minute from the main square, the 3 suites provide absolute privacy, the gorgeous mixed dorm encourages adventure sharing. All can enjoy the warm, communal atmosphere of the courtyard, Moroccan salon-dining room, and 2 flower and fruit tree draped roof terraces. All this enhanced by your own personal soundtrack with iPod speakers in each room, and free wifi access throughout the hostel.

You cannot help but find your favorite colour here by day Layla Rouge is a vase of flowers or a box of hand decorated chocolates, or an techni-flavour ice-cream stand; by night a treasure chest of glittering jewels, or a sparkling solar system. Use your imagination.

Riad Layla Rouge wants you to get comfy in Marrakech; to feel safe and happy; imaginative and inspired we combine a hostel spirit and atmosphere with that little bit of indulgence that you find in a luxury riad. Très bien
Hello, we rent a private room here. For summer, the room with the kind of window that you cannot close with the wooden grating is a good think, but for january even in maroco we felt like in a fridge. I got a little bit sick. I finaly hang inside the grating holes my coat and it was definitely better. I was thinking maybe its normal here this kind of window but the last day a guest told us that the dormitories have a heating air conditioning and no window The breakfast was very good.

My twelve-day stay at Riad Layla Rouge was magnificent due to the attentiveness, reliability, respectfulness, and professionalism of staff Houssain, Mustafa, Fatima, and Awatif paired with the sense security, tidiness, and central location of the place. I will say that my experience might vary from those in dorms since I stayed in a private room and during three different times. Because of my long stay, the riad manager and Houssain showed me their flexibility by working out a more suitable price that could benefit us both. Their willingness to work with me helped me release the stress that comes with having to book a hostel and hope for the best. My long stay allowed me to experience first-hand the work of the riad’s staff. When I arrived, Mustafa welcomed with professionalism, friendliness, and warm mint tea. Mustafa provided me with essential information about the tourist spots as well as ways to stay safe and scam-free. I personally appreciated the information about how to deal with vendors and how to tip street performers. During my stay, Houssain showed me his utmost professionalism, respect, and friendliness. Houssain demonstrated excellent communication skills; he was clear and straight forward about all tourism-related things he had vast knowledge and limited information about. Additionally, I really appreciated how understanding, accommodating, compassionate, transparent, and flexible both Mustafa and Houssain were with me when I shared that I wanted to stay in the same room on my return to Marrakech during two different times. They assured me that they would do everything within their power to help me get my room back, but they were transparent about the possibility that I may not due to high demand, and may need to spend a night in another room before moving to the same room. Thankfully, when I got back to Marrakech both times, I had the same room waiting for me, which made me heavenly happy 😊. As for tours around or outside Marrakech, the hostel offered extensive information, and I ended up signing up for the Merzouga Sahara Desert tour. Moreover, Fatima and Awatif had such a lovely female energy in the hostel. They were quite welcoming, joyful, approachable, and efficient when providing breakfast and laundry service, as well as maintaining the hostel impeccably clean and proper. Something that I really cherished during my stay at Riad Layla Rouge was the camaraderie between Houssain, Mustafa, Fatima, and Awatif. They showed the utmost respect for the work each one of them does to get this riad working as smoothly as it does. From what I observed, they support each other and value the role each plays in the hostel. I strongly believe that having a supportive and respectful dynamic among colleagues is one important reason that makes a hostel worth your money because it is a healthy work environment AND you know they will work together as a team to deliver the best services you deserve as a client. Said all these amazing things about this riad, I will say that the only drawbacks I see are the lack of heating and unreliable WIFI. My first suggestion would be for the owners of the hostel to invest on good space heaters to warm the dining area during breakfast in the winter months because it is REALLY cold. While having an open are is lovely, a lot of cold air travels from the terrace down to the first floor. So, if you are coming here during winter, use layers as much as you can! My second suggestion would be to get better quality WIFI extenders or have a modem on each floor. This way, we can all enjoy the reliable WIFI connection that some rooms do. Lastly, this is more of an advocacy for Houssain, Mustafa, Fatima, and Awatif. These are extraordinary workers, and they deserve the recognition through a raise for all the work they do. I have seen how dedicated, resourceful, and helpful they are with all clients. So, I am rooting for you all to get some extra cash! I am deeply grateful for the hospitality, reliability, sense of security, helpfulness, support, and cleanliness I experienced at this riad. Moreover, you get to experience life in the medina and be within a two-minute walk from the Jemaa el fna square. You definitely want to stay here!
