Description de l’établissement
Join a vibrant permaculture community. Play with chickens, gather eggs, and pick fruit in the mature temperate faerie food forest. Watch eagles, turtles, blue herons, deer, lynx & beaver on the riverfront. Made with Love urban farm is a social enterprise, collective house, and eco artisan food company in Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc. Share farm-to-table feasts, soak in the mineralized alkaline hot tub and swim in the clothing-optional copper crystal pool (May-October), sunbathe on secluded riverfront acreage, along the wildlife wetlands across from the disc golf course, skatepark, and nature trail at McArthur Island Park in Brocklehurst, right in the City of Kamloops, BC Canada. Chill out and stay a while - our weekly/monthly rates are awesome!!!
Made with Love Urban Farm is a sustainable eco-community - everything here is a little bit different. We like our life as natural as we can get it, we clean with baking soda and vinegar, we use unscented natural laundry soap, and recycle, repair, reuse, or upcycle everything we can to keep garbage out of our landfills and consume as little as possible. Our food is made with lots of local, free-range, wild, and often organic meat with tons of organic vegetables. We love essential oils, flowers, and herbs, but avoid cigarettes, chemicals, vapes, synthetic perfumes & fragrances. Our urban organic food forest farm hosts international volunteers, permaculture interns, guests, and our founders, Colin and Alexandra on half a riverside acre in a suburban neighborhood with our flock of real Canadian climbing chickens free roaming our fruit tree gardens & a small dog named Bella running around to entertain you.
Walk out from the great room door to the awesome clothing-optional chill space on the brick patio with a copper crystal natural alkaline swimming pool and chlorine-free mineral hot tub. All entirely recycled, reclaimed, recovered, and repurposed, you'll find large tables for outdoor dining, BBQ, lounge chairs, and a naturalized English country garden surrounding the aqua-green alkaline pool. Ducks and deer play in the estuary below and the riverbank is filled with delicious blackcurrants and wild cherries, herbs, tomatoes, and squashes in season. There is a steep path down to the water for canoes, kayaks, and paddle boarders to access the main Thompson River in the spring season. In the main house, you'll find a great community room with tons of instruments and huge farm tables for family-style meals. As a collective we grow and share food, practice empathy, active meditation, whole being awareness, radical intimacy, being yoga, and compassionate communication (NV); we are eco-sustainable, liberal, open-minded, poly curious, and LGBTQ2S friendly. We are currently on the property for the summer season: Colin, Ryodai, Jakob, Marcel, Noah, Leni, Alexandra, and Linda.
Make your life so easy with whole food wellness - our pro meal plan is professional chef-catered brunch and dinner every day, shopping, and cooking all done for you!
