Set in Te Anau, Bob & Maxines Backpackers offers quiet shared accommodation and a few private rooms just a 5-minute drive to town. The calming views of llama paddocks, and distant mountains are a picturesque way to start and end each day. There's free bikes and helmets available for guests, free private parking, a shared lounge with big windows offering stunning views of the mountains, shared kitchen, fireplace, and a garden. If you're arriving in Te Anau by bus it's about a 30 minute flat walk or we are happy to pick you up.

Bon établissement. Cuisine équipée et fonctionnelle, pièce commune agréable. Froid dans la salle de bain car nous ne pouvons pas fermé la fenêtre. Personnel gentil et serviable.

bob and maxine’s place feels like a home in the best way.
it’s warm and cozy. don’t be put off that it’s not right in the centre because it’s perfect location wi try alpacas and free range eggs right near. they’ll lend you their bikes for trips into town. i would love to return

Bob and Maxine were such a pleasant and adorable couple. They truly love what they do and the thoughtful touches around the hostel made it feel like home. Bob was present every morning cleaning, chatting, and just generally cheerful. He made a fire daily to keep the place warm. The alpacas and llamas were a fun touch and they would provide apples to feed them. The place was impeccably clean. You will not make a mistake staying here.
