Apart from the comfortable stay, Black Tomato offers a restaurant 'Black Tomato Kitchen' which offers a menu based on local traditions of Georgian-Jewish district, where the hostel and restaurant are located.
The vintage interior design is bringing new life to the old furniture from local homes.

The location is good, close to the living heart of Kutaisi (Theater, old Jewish quarter, White Bridge etc.) in a rather quiet street.
The (she) owner is serious, and keeps all this hostel very clean (She speaks fluently Italian, Russian as well.
She is , like many Georgians, not keen to enthusiastic talks, never mind - life is not so easy in Georgia ! - she is very reliable!
Good atmosphere in general, and especially in the common kitchen, where the Georgian Breakfast is a real pleasure.

Je suis partie seule à Kutaissi et j'ai choisi de loger à Black Tomato, j'ai été très bien accueillie et très bien orientée quand j'ai pu avoir des difficultés avec la langue (réserver un bus pour l'aéroport par téléphone par exemple !) l'endroit est très cosy, ne brasse pas trop de monde, on se sent presque comme chez l'habitant. C'est une grande maison avec beaucoup de charme et très bien placé dans le centre ! Je recommande vivement :)
