Pick up service at your hostel is available but it's cheaper and easy enough to ride the excellent Brazilian buses.

Just wake up before noon and jump on the city bus named (rodoviaria) means bus-station. When you arrive to the Rio Bus station you take the stairs up to the Viacao 1001 ticket counter.

Here you buy a ticket to Casimiro de Abreu (departure every 2 hours) where you are to transfer to the bus called Lumiar/Cascata (several departure times during the day but you should arrive no later than about 4:00 pm). Show the driver and his assistant your brochure or simply say, 'sitio dos gringoes na cachoera grande cascata' this means the big waterfall place where all the gringos go' write this on a piece of paper and show to the driver of the second bus .
After an exciting 30 minute mountain ride up along side a whitewater river you will see the waterfall on this brochure (on your right and below; note: this is not an official stop so be alert but if you pass it, not to worry, next stop is the the village of Cascata where you get off and just trek it back about half a mile until you see our bridge under the fall, open our gate at roadside and cross the bridge ) ….This is Cascata Fall and home of J.B. Hostel…Well, come to the jungle
