We had a horrible time here. It was dirty, the kitchen had no gas or a fridge. The owners no longer live there and the new host has no hosting skills and made us feel unwelcome and an annoyance to her. The loo roll ran out on our first and wasn't replaced the whole 4 days we stayed. It's a good location in terms of road and beach access but the huge trucks on the road were so close and loud. There is also not much in el Sunzal in terms of shops. The room was hot, although each bed had a fan.

I've stayed in hostels everywhere and never encountered such unfriendliness. When a rooster woke us up at 4am two nights in a row, we politely said we were leaving. She not only refused to refund us for one unused night; she forced us to pay for yet another night that we weren't going to use at all. She was utterly unsympathetic and inflexible. This is a terrible business practice, and a totally unfriendly place.

Good budget option. The location is ok for peace and quiet but pretty far from town. There's no stores, supermarkets or anything worthwhile nearby. It's about 300 metres to the beach, which is beautiful, but generally you're on your own there. They have a useful kitchen but you need to take a bus into town to stock up on supplies. Large sized private room with comfortable bed, ceiling fan, high ceilings. The wi-fi is spotty but manageable.
