Beautifully decorated in a colourblock style, walking into one of Anna's two large dormitories might give you the impression that you have chosen to spend the night in a Rothko painting. With 14 beds each (both bunked and non-bunked), the dorms has a very friendly atmosphere.
(For groups (4-6-8 people) we would like to advise our Sky Room. It's located on the top of the building with a great view of Amsterdam. You'll have own Bathroom and own entrance. Please contact us for reservations.)
Travellers from all over the world crash here, hanging out and sleeping by day and making use of the hostel's excellent central location as a base for forays into the many options Amsterdam offers at night.
Friendly, efficient, and English-speaking workers staff the desk in the hostel's tiny reception area, which has a TV, a selection of travel guidebooks, and is the building's only smoking section. Separated from the reception area by a beautiful draped curtain, the bathroom has sinks, six toilets and four showers, all free and with hot water. Like the dorm rooms, the bathroom is clean and beautifully decorated in colourblock.
The desk can hold valuables overnight in the safe, but in general the dorm atmosphere is trusting and relaxed. The desk also provides free sheets and towels, and makes up the beds in the afternoon.
